Honor Flight names _ Sept 2015

The American Veteran is one of our greatest treasures…. those men and women who answered our Nation’s call, especially in our times of greatest need.

The Honor Flight mission is to honor and thank those veterans – especially our WWII veterans–by sending them to Washington DC for a day of honor, at no cost to them.

Twenty-four WWII veterans (one female) will be on the flight out of Tucson on September 12.

The Saturday, September 12th Honor Flight leaves the Tucson Airport, American Airlines Flight #1228 at 8:15am.

Please consider carpooling to the airport to talk to the WWII Veterans before the flight and wish them a fond farewell. Come early!

Please write up to 24 letters to the veterans traveling on this flight thanking them for their service. So far there have been letters turned in by two club members.

Please take the letters to Kay Robinson’s, 898 N Kenneth Drive by September 10th. It is heart-warming to see the vets opening the letters on the return trip after “Mail Call”.

Stay tuned for the Monday, Sept. 14th return flight information. Questions? Contact Kay at (520) 495-4173.
