Matching Funds Campaign

Scholarship Matching Fund Goal is Met!

THANK YOU to all of you who have contributed to the Scholarship Matching Fund Campaign that was launched in the fall. We have reached the goal! As you know, this is the 3rd year that we have been fortunate enough to have a group of generous donors who offered up to $40,000 to be matched 2 for 1 by additional donations. The campaign has resulted in $63,800 being raised for TWOQC scholarships to be awarded this spring. It has also inspired several people to fund a full Named Scholarship of $3500 each! For more information on Named Scholarships contact Deb Melton, Director of Scholarships, debwpski@hotmail.com.

Applications are available on our website, womenqc.com/scholarship, and are coming in daily. All applications are reviewed by members of the committee, and some will be selected for interviews and then awards. We plan to award 9 scholarships to high school senior girls from the 3 high schools in our area, 6 scholarships to girls who received one last year, and 15 scholarships to women over 21 years of age through our Advancing Women through Education program. All awards are paid directly to the school and are used for tuition and fees only.

Please mark your calendar and plan to attend the Awards Night on May 15 at 6:30 in the Madera Clubhouse Ballroom. It will be an exciting evening! We love helping other women improve their lives through education. Thank you for helping us do that.

TWOQC awards scholarships to graduating senior girls from Walden Grove, Sahuarita and Rio Rico High Schools, and to Advancing Women through Education (AWE, formerly WIT) who are 21 or older seeking to complete their educational goals, and for whom there are few scholarship opportunities. Learn more about the scholarship program on the TWOQC website: womenqc.com/scholarship-information.

TWOQC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. If you itemize your tax return, your gift is fully tax-deductible. Direct gifts from Required Minimum Distribution (RMD’s) can reduce your taxable income. Consult your financial adviser for guidance.
