November 2025 — The Women of Quail Creek Community Outreach Committee held a very successful fundraising drive for the Animal League of Green Valley (a no-kill animal shelter) on Thursday, November 6. Quail Creek residents drove or cycled to the Pickleball Court parking lot to drop off food, toys, snacks, collars, leashes, kennels, cat towers, blankets, checks and cash in support of the Animal League. Over 1,400 items were collected along with $945 in cash! We are very grateful to our Quail Creek community for their support.

In December, we collected pajamas and books to support the Angel Heart Pajama Project. Their mission is to provide new pajamas and books to children who are abandoned, abused, removed from homes and placed in foster care or live in homeless shelters in the surround communities. Their belief is that every child deserves a nurturing bedtime.

May 2025 — The Community Outreach Committee contributed art supplies to Sahuarita Parks & Recreation for the completion of a large mural. Students from the Sahuarita Teens Advisory Council painted approximately 30-45 12×12” canvases that will be placed on a larger canvas and displayed at La Villita Community Center. In addition to the requested supplies we provided, we also received several checks to purchase additional items. We are grateful to our community and friends outside of Quail Creek for their donations.

March 2025 — The Community Outreach Committee’s first in-kind fundraising initiative kicks off March 3 in support of Green Valley Food Bank. In December, the Food Bank served 2,400 individual people. Their needs do not diminish in the winter, but donations often do. We will be collecting non-perishable food items along with often overlooked items that include hygiene products especially feminine hygiene products and adult and baby diapers and wipes. Thank you in advance to all for teaming up with The Women of Quail Creek to benefit our local food bank!

January 2025 — With grateful hearts, we want to recognize the monetary donations of $434 to Genesis House Shelter that allowed our committee to purchase Christmas gifts for the five children and four mothers staying at Genesis House over the Christmas holiday. The children received toys on their Christmas list along with clothes and each mother received a $50 gift card.

December 2024 — The Community Outreach Committee is grateful for the outpouring of support for Genesis House Shelter in Green Valley. In addition to more than 700 household and personal items collected, we also received checks that will give us an opportunity to purchase items for residents and their children over the Christmas holiday.

The committee continues to receive gift cards to benefit Courtney’s Courage. One donor who lives outside of the Quail Creek community wrote, “Your organization is such a blessing. I’m glad to hear the gift cards are making kids smile.” On December 16, the committee presented a check to Courtney’s Courage Founder in the amount of $5,675. We are grateful to all of you who supported our efforts with your generous donations.

March 20, 2024 — Representatives from TALGV and some of the pets (up for adoption) were at the Quail Creek Pickleball Ramada on March 19th from 3-4:30pm to greet the Quail Creek community. The Community Outreach team sends its sincere thank you to all TWOQC members, Critters Club members and the entire Quail Creek Community for their outstanding support for our drive to collect items for The Animal League of Green Valley. These letters express honor and respect for the military service of these veterans. While in Washington D.C. these veterans will tour the war memorials dedicated to their service. Their travel and tour expenses are fully funded by Honor Flight Southern Arizona. Carin Kaiser collected the letters from TWOQC volunteers and the Green Valley Chapter of Military Officers Association of America. There will be another Honor Flight in the fall for which TWOQC will invite all Quail Creek residents to write letters of gratefulness to the veterans, many of whom feel their service was not appreciated.

In 2022, the Community Outreach Committee also hosted a Clothing Swap that raised funds and enabled them to donate many clothing items to Hands of a Friend to support victims of domestic abuse in Genesis House; provided non-perishable healthy snacks for at-risk youth served at the Amado Youth Center; and hosted a teachers’ supply shower for the elementary school teachers at Continental School. The generosity of members and Quail Creek residents to help the less fortunate is greatly appreciated.

Honor Flight _ sept2015HONOR FLIGHT — (Jan. 20, 2023)  Many thanks to the QC residents who wrote the 640 letters of appreciation to the 60 Native American veterans who went on the Honor Flight to Washington, DC earlier this month. The veterans were most appreciative of your words of gratitude. The “Mail Call” letters given to the veterans on their flight home are often cherished by the veterans, many of whom believe their service was not appreciated by their fellow Americans.

SCHOOL TEACHERS’ SUPPLY SHOWER  AUGUST 20, 2022 Thanks to the generosity of Club members and many Quail Creek residents, the Community Outreach Committee held a very successful shower for the 21 elementary school teachers at Continental School on August 17.

Each teacher received two large bags, one with a variety of school supplies and the other with more practical items — Kleenex, paper towels, copy paper, and wipes. They were served carrot cake and Arnold Palmers while they celebrated. This was the first time an outside group had ever “showered” them with gifts and the teachers really appreciated it. They were very surprised at the variety and number of gifts they received.
