“This is just one of the many free raffle prizes the moms-to-be might win. And… what a wonderful cookbook!”
BABY SHOWER
Only one more week until our baby shower. The Moms’ bags are all done. Donations for baby items may be taken to Pam Rodgers’ house at 2640 E Sawyer Road. There are also boxes at the Anza Fitness Center and the Madera Clubhouse where donations can be dropped.
Checks for the shower payable to TWOQC Charity Account may be left at the Concierge Desk. The Shower Committee will be assembling the baskets on April 16 so please finish up anything you have been creating and get it to Pam by April 15.
COOKBOOKS
If you need a hostess gift for family or friends as you head for cooler locations, a cookbook would make a nice gesture and show those who don’t live here what great cooks we have in our community. If you need a cookbook, please contact me at pjmcgee@cox.net and I will make arrangements to get it to you. Just $15 each.
HONOR FLIGHT
Mark your calendars for Monday April 20 at 4 PM. All are invited to the US Airways section at the Tucson International Airport (TIA) from 4-6 p.m. when the veterans and their guardians return. Please use either Hourly or Economy Parking. Bring the parking ticket to the counter and the airport may be able to validate it—that is TIA’s way of saying “thank you” for supporting local Vets.
If you have not yet completed your letters to thank the World War II vets for their service, time is running out. Letters can be turned in to Kay Robinson at 898 Kenneth Drive or left at the Concierge desk by April 16. Please put each letter in an envelope with the veteran’s name on it. If the letter is for any veteran, do not address the envelope and the organizers will take care of it. In case you misplaced the list of names, here it is for the last time.
COUPON CLIPPING PARTY
The next coupon clipping party will be held at 9 a.m. on April 24 at the Connell sisters’ house, 539 Ramos Lane. You will be finished by noon. There are lots of coupons to be clipped, so please stop by their house and pick up some books to clip and sort. They had over $50.5K worth of coupons last month to send overseas.
HOUSE PLANTS
Quail Creek resident, Donna Furey, died recently. Her husband has several houseplants he would like to give to a good home.
If you have a green thumb, please contact John Furey at 393-0957. Please tell him I gave you his number.
APRIL MEETING
Our April 27 meeting at 6:30 p.m. will feature Karen Pomroy, Founder of Equine Voices Rescue and Sanctuary—more details on the program next week. If you are shopping in the next couple of weeks, please consider picking up some extra groceries for the Green Valley/Sahuarita Food Bank. Even though the annual Feinstein Challenge fell through, the Food Bank found a group people who will match donations. Peanut butter, paper, cleaning, baby and hygiene items would make shoppers very happy. You will also be able to make cash/check/credit card donations at the meeting.
