Membership Zoom Meeting
Mark your calendar for Wednesday, November 4 at 2:30 for our annual Membership Meeting.
We’re so sorry it can’t be in person but we want to say “Hi” and bring you up to date on The Women of Quail Creek.
You will be receiving an email with the Zoom web connection. All you have to do is click on the link in the email. We look forward to seeing you!
We Need Your Expertise
We still have Board positions for the 2021 Board open.
Do you like to put on parties or events? Are you good at writing? Would you like to connect with organizations in Green Valley and Sahuarita? We need your skills. Positions that we need to be filled are Charity Fundraising Director, Publicity Director, and Community Relations Director. We need members who will step up and serve to bring new ideas and experience to our club. Please contact our Nominations Chair, Deborah Bryant at nominations@womenqc.com.
The Program Committee has been busy arranging some small group plus online programs and events until we can start meeting in person again. In our recent survey, many said they were ready to meet in a small group as long as everyone wore masks. For these members, we are offering three 6-person only plus the instructor events. Because the number of persons who can participate is very small, we ask that you sign up for only one small group activity this month. We will have a waitlist and if a course turns out to be very popular, we will see if the instructor will offer it again. Updated 11/9/2020 – LIST OF PROGRAMS & EVENTS BEING OFFERED
Corks Needed
If you have any real corks in your kitchen “junk” drawer that you won’t be needing, please drop them at either 2376 E Skywalker Way or 1908 E Longspur Place by November 11. They are needed for a crafts project. Wine stains are OK. The corks are needed for the November 12th small group program.

If you missed the first Membership Appreciation Drive-Thru, be sure to swing by the second one being held on Friday, 11/6/2020 from 9-11 am. CANNED GOODS DRIVE FOR HOMELESS VETERANS
Thanks to all who donated to our first-ever canned foods and paper goods drive for homeless veterans on October 24. You beat our highest expectations. It took three fully-loaded SUVs and two sedans to transport everything to the VA where there were at least a dozen VA employees waiting to unload the cars. The head of VA Voluntary Service said in an email, “Thank you so much to The Women of Quail Creek for your continued support of our patients.” The section chief for the homeless program said, “Thank you and your group so much for all the great donations!”
HANDS OF A FRIEND: GENESIS HOUSE SENDS THANKS
Genesis House, Green Valley’s safe house for women and children, sends a hardy thank you to TWOQC and Quail Creek residents. Recent donations of furniture, a sewing machine, and computer equipment have gone a long way to refurbishing an important area for residents. Colleen Hansen, Director said, “We are so thankful to have a newer computer….our slowest/oldest computer is being replaced with the new one that you brought to us yesterday. One of our ladies voiced how very excited she is to take some classes.”
