A coupon clipping party will be held TODAY, February 20, at 9 a.m. at the Connell sisters’ house, 539 Ramos Lane. You will be finished by noon. Please help if you can spare a couple hours. Volunteers are invited to go out for a no-host luncheon afterwards, location to be determined by the helpers.
TWOQC MEETING ON FEBRUARY 23
The topic of our meeting on the 23rd at 10 a.m. in the Ballroom will be Ted DeGrazia, An Arizona Legend presented by Shannon Rossomando, Executive Director, DeGrazia Gallery in the Sun. Attendees will learn all about the fascinating life of Tucson’s most famous artist. DeGrazia was a truly unique individual, one who approached life on his own terms, bigger than life and a Tucson legend. The program will be a good introduction to our field trip to the DeGrazia Gallery on March 31. Ms. Rossomando’s talk will cover information that will not be part of the museum visit. Door prizes will come from the museum’s gift shop.
If you have any spare coins that you are willing to part with, please consider bringing them to the meeting on Monday and depositing them in one of the baby bottles at the back of the ballroom. These will be used for prizes for the baby shower to enable the two lucky moms to start a college fund for their new babies. If you donate bills, we will buy $1 “gold” coins with them.
TWOQC POLO SHIRTS
We will again be taking orders for the pink polo shirts in the back of the Ballroom starting at 9:30 a.m., just prior to our February 23 meeting at 10 a.m. The shirts are $18 and come in sizes Small to 2XX. I found they run small but since they are a blend, they do not shrink.
Tickets for our annual field trip will be for sale in the back of the ballroom from 9- 10 a.m., just prior to our meeting on February 23. One bus is already filled. The field trip will take place on TUESDAY, March 31. Busses will leave the Madera parking lot at 9 a.m. and return somewhere between 4 & 4:30 p.m. We will have two stops—the DeGrazia Museum and the Miniatures Time Machine Museum. We will meet together at Trattoria Pina for a Spaghetti Bolognese lunch with a chocolate éclair for dessert. Cost will be $40.
Cookbooks will be on sale from 9-10 a.m. on February 23 in the lobby. Hands of a Friend has a challenge going on through April in which they are trying to pay off the mortgage and install solar panels for Genesis House, a local facility for female victims of domestic abuse. We’d like to give them the proceeds from the cookbooks to date. If you have been hesitating on buying a book, please consider doing so now. They will make great hostess gifts if you are visiting family and friends this coming summer. Shopping at DaZee’s will help them with the challenge, too.
Only 8 more weeks until the baby shower. If you were lucky enough to win a raffle prize that was in a basket at the Fashion Show, and you have no use for the basket once you remove your prize, please consider donating it to the club for the baby shower.
- You may bring them to our meeting on February 23 at 10 a.m. or drop them off at Pam Rodgers’ house at 2640 E Sawyer Road.
- If you have baby items you wish to donate, you may take them to Pam or bring them to our February 23 meeting.
- Keep your eye out for diaper coupons in Sunday’s paper. A new Mom can never have too many diapers and wipes!
- There is also a drop box at the Anza Fitness Center where donations can be dropped.

If you are a winter resident and have not yet gotten your champagne flute or CD covering our 10 years of activities, please remember to pick them up at the meeting on Monday. If you can’t make the meeting, let me know at email@example.com and I will arrange for you to get them.
If you picked up some of those travel sized toiletries during your recent travels and have no use for them, please bring them to the meeting on February 23 and leave them on the table in the back of the ballroom. I will take them to the VA for the homeless veterans.
