Friday Morning Message

We will again be taking orders for the pink polo shirts starting at 9:30 a.m., just prior to our February 23 meeting at 10 a.m. The shirts are $18 and come in sizes Sm to 2XX.  I found they run small but since they are a blend, they do not shrink. Shannon Rossomando, Education Director at the DeGrazia Gallery will talk about Ted DeGrazia, the Man. You will not learn about him on the field trip which will focus more on his art and the grounds at the museum.

Tickets for our annual field trip will be for sale in the back of the ballroom from 9- 10 a.m., just prior to our meeting on February 23.

  • One bus is already filled
  • The field trip will take place on TUESDAY, March 31
  • Busses will leave the Madera parking lot at 9 a.m. and return somewhere between 4 & 4:30
  • We will have two stops—the DeGrazia Museum and the Miniatures Time Machine Museum
  • We will meet together at Trattoria Pina for a Spaghetti Bolognese lunch with a chocolate éclair for dessert
  • Cost will be $40

We will have a table at Discover Quail Creek on Saturday, March 7 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. You will tell visitors to our table about the great things the club does to help others. And we will be allowed to sell cookbooks.

We will have copies of our list of upcoming events, the scrapbooks, membership forms. Shifts will be 9-11, 11-1 and 1-3. If you can help, please let me know at and include your preferred shift.

We really appreciate all your donations and buying so many raffle tickets. Because of your generosity, the Fashion Show and luncheon earned $6,672 for the American Cancer Society.

If you need a last minute Valentine’s gift, consider a cookbook for a long lasting gift. Contact me at or call 207-6188 to arrange for pick-up. We also need one more lady to sell cookbooks at Madera between 9 & 10 a.m. on Monday, February 23, right before our meeting. Please let me know at if you can help.

Only 9 more weeks until the baby shower. If you were lucky enough to win a raffle prize that was in a basket at the Fashion Show, and you have no use for the basket once you remove your prize, please consider donating it to the club for the baby shower. You may bring them to our meeting on February 23 at 10 a.m. or drop them off at Pam Rodgers’ house at 2640 E Sawyer Road. If you have baby items you wish to donate, you may take them to Pam or bring them to our February 23 meeting.

Pam has scheduled a Baby Shower Planning Meeting on Tuesday, February 17 in the Silver Room at Madera from 3:30-4:30pm.

Keep your eye out for diaper coupons in Sunday’s paper. A new Mom can never have too many diapers and wipes!

The next coupon clipping party will be held on February 20 at 9 a.m. at the Connell sisters’ house, 539 Ramos Lane. You will be finished by noon.

Thanks for all you do to help others.
Happy Valentine’s Day tomorrow.
