SUMMER LUNCHEON
Thanks again to all who brought donations of food or household products for our annual collection for the National Guard. We got some additional donations after the meeting, so in the end, we gave the National Guard 120 lbs. of groceries and $60 in cash. See the thank you note from the Green Valley Military Officers Association president: 2015 Thank You Notes. And we set another record with our coupon collection in June. Yesterday morning I handed $13,681.86 in coupons over to the Air National Guard.

Captain (Chaplain) Nathan Mestler, Peggy McGee, and Barbara Gavre, Family Readiness Program Manager, are all smiles upon seeing the 400 lbs. of groceries the Quail Creek Community donated in the annual 4th of July Food for the Troops campaign. (Photo is by Steve Abel.)
A huge thanks to Lois and Janet Connell who sorted and counted the bulk of the coupons.
COUPONS
The Overseas Coupon Project is on hold while we reorganize. The coupon collection for the National Guard continues to be active. However, we cannot accept any uncut coupons since we have no volunteers to clip them. We have posted new instructions for preparing the cut coupons for both the National Guard and for overseas: Coupon Prep Instructions. Peggy Richmond is taking care of the coupons for Unit 23 and Judy Poffenbarger for Unit 11. If anyone from another unit wants to take on this project for your unit only, please let me know at pjmcgee@cox.net. Free training!
HOMELESS & HOSPITALIZED VETERANS
Thanks so much for your donations of toiletries, razors—always needed—and other grooming products for the homeless veterans. I will be taking 31.6 lbs. of toiletries and 17.4 lbs. of note cards and calendars to the VA later today. The hospitalized veterans really appreciate all the calendars, greeting cards, and note pads that you donate.
YARN
Someone has donated yarn that will be ideal for making hats, scarves, socks for the homeless veterans when we hold our clothing drive on October 31. If you need some yarn to get started on knitting projects or more yarn if you have been busy knitting or crocheting over the past couple of months, please contact me at pjmcgee@cox.net and I will gladly show you what I have.

COOKBOOKS
Do you need a hostess gift for when you travel to beat the heat? Only $15, with all proceeds going to victims of domestic abuse in the local area. Please contact me at pjmcgee@cox.net to arrange for pick-up.
