JULY TWOQC MEETING
Mark your calendars for 6:30 p.m. on July 27. That’s the date and time of our next scheduled meeting. Judge Lisa Royal, Justice of the Peace for Green Valley since 2013, will share with us what goes on behind the scenes from a judge’s perspective. She will talk both from a personal and professional standpoint about what life is like on the bench. Door prizes will be given.
WRITER NEEDED
Like to write? Can you spare about 12 hours per month? We are looking for someone to write articles for the Crossing and X-tra, and occasionally the GV News starting in January 2016 through December, 2017. Training will be provided. Those interested in helping keep TWOQC in the news may contact me at pjmcgee@cox.net or by calling 207-6188.
COUPONS
Coupons for the National Guard should expire August 12 or later. Coupons for overseas should expire June 15 or later. However, we cannot accept any uncut coupons since we have no volunteers to clip them. We have posted new instructions for preparing the cut coupons for both the National Guard and for overseas (click here). Peggy Richmond is taking care of the coupons for Unit 23 and Judy Poffenbarger for Unit 11. If anyone from another unit wants to take on this project for your unit only, please let me know at pjmcgee@cox.net. Free training!
SUNSHINE CARDS
If you know of anyone who is ill or who has lost a spouse, child, or other close relative, please let one of the board members (Janice Pell, 1st VP, Publicity; Carol Mutter, 2nd VP, Membership; Barbara Kittle, Secretary; Nancy Wilson, Treasurer; Sandi Beach, Special Events; or me) know so we can send a card.
YARN
There is still some yarn left that will be ideal for making hats, scarves, socks for the homeless veterans. If you need some yarn to get started on knitting projects or more yarn if you have been busy knitting or crocheting over the past couple of months, please contact me at pjmcgee@cox.net and I will gladly show you what I have. Our annual clothing drive will be on October 31.
ONLY 27 LEFT!
Do you need a hostess gift for when you travel to beat the heat? Only $15, with all proceeds going to victims of domestic abuse in the local area. Please contact me at pjmcgee@cox.net to arrange for pick-up.
