There are a few tickets left for the Candy Cane Christmas luncheon. You may obtain a ticket by contacting Nancy Wilson at nanwil60@aol.com (207-6830) for tickets.
♦ ♦ The absolute deadline is December 7 ♦ ♦
If something has come up and you cannot attend, please give your ticket to someone else and call Nancy
at (520) 207-6830 to let her know who is substituting for you. If you cannot find someone to whom you can give a ticket, call Nancy since she may have some names on her Wait List.
If you cannot attend and have a friend who is attending, you can ask that she be given a boxed lunch for you. Once we turn in the final count at Madera, we cannot give refunds for unused meals since the club gets charged for them. […Holiday Luncheon]
GENESIS HOUSE
Anyone wishing to provide gifts for the victims of domestic abuse may drop unwrapped items off at DaZee’s at 231 W Duval Road. They have a special box in the store for holiday presents.
Right now the children are getting many gifts from the GV Fire Department but the 14 year old girl and the 15 moms would appreciate being remembered at holiday time. Suggested items include: perfume, nail polish, bath scrunchies and bath scrub. Such gifts make them feel feminine and good about themselves and these items are seldom donated for them.
See the note we received from Patti O’Berry this week thanking us for our support: 2015 Thank-You Notes.

FOOD BANK THANKS
We received a thank you from the Food Bank for our donations on the day of our Membership Appreciation Brunch. As the letter attests, you are appreciated by many for your generosity: 2015 Thank-You Notes.
GOLF COACHES NEEDED FOR BLIND VETERANS
Right now there is a need for golf coaches in the Green Valley and Tucson areas. A coach is one who assists a blind golfer in addressing the ball and with alignment prior to the stroke. Those interested in learning more about this program or to help may contact Kelcie Douglas at the Southwestern Blind Rehabilitation Center @ 520-792-1450 ext. 15634. This is just one of the many programs offered at Tucson’s VA Hospital.
COUPONS
Thanks for your continued support for the Coupons for the Troops program. For November we sent coupons to the Sasebo Naval Base in Japan worth $3,497, and $12,570.10 went to Lakenheath, UK.
Coupons for the next shipment to the two overseas bases that the club supports should expire November 1 or later. Coupons for the National Guard should expire December 15 or later.
Expired or soon to expire coupons should be dropped off at Peggy Richmond’s (2731 E. Eba Court) or Judy Poffenbarger’s (2390 E Bluejay Bluff Lane) houses. Clipped and sorted coupons for the National Guard only may also be left at Lois and Janet Connell’s house (539 N. Ramos Lane.) […Coupons]
QCVGA SENDS THEIR THANKS
Just before Veterans’ Day the Quail Creek Veterans Golf Association held a tournament and raffle to raise funds to support various military charities in the local area. We donated two A Shared Table cookbooks as a small gesture of appreciation for their donation of $500 to our 2015 baby shower. Their thank you letter can be found here: 2015 Thank You Notes.
