TWOQC January Program
Monday, January 29th at 10:00 a.m. · Madera Clubhouse Ballroom
TWOQC will host Georgina Jacquez, Park Ranger for the Tumacácori National Historic Park when she will provide an overview of the history and present events offered at the park.
Tickets for The Women of Quail Creek’s field trip to Tumacácori and Tubac on March 26 ($40 each) will be sold at the meeting. The fee includes: bus transportation, admission to the sites and luncheon at The Italian Peasant in Tubac. Get your tickets early as we only have two buses and the event will sell out quickly!
The Ribbon Colors of Cancer
Wednesday, February 7th is fast approaching. But, it’s not too late to:
Sponsor a table
- Volunteer to help at the luncheon
- Purchase luncheon tickets
- Purchase 50/50 and basket raffle tickets (bring your address labels!)
Nancy Jacobs will be selling luncheon tickets ($25 each) on January 19th and 22nd from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Madera Clubhouse lobby. If there are tickets left, an additional sale will be at the January 29th TWOQC meeting.
Linda Bradley will be selling 50/50 and raffle basket tickets on the 19th and 22nd from 4:30-7:00 at the clubhouse and again on January 29th at TWOQC’s program at 10:00 a.m. Right now the 50/50 raffle is already exceeding the amount reported last week. We are currently at $1,700!
Table sponsorships are being offered for $100, $150 and $250. The Sponsor Commitment form is accessible online at TWOQC’s website or in the Touched by Cancer slot at the clubhouse.
2018 Baby Shower for Military Families
“Love You to the Moon and Back” · May 19th!
We are holding steady with 16 families wanting to participate in our baby shower so far. With more than three months left before the event, our goal of 25-30 families should be reached.
Our next planning meeting is Wednesday, February 14th at 10:00 a.m. in the Kino Conference Room. Volunteer opportunities abound in this committee! Sewing, decorating, inventory and donations committees need help as well as other committees.
The “Baby Bottle” collection table will be set up at the Madera Clubhouse lobby starting in February! Watch next week’s Friday Morning Message for exact dates.
The donation box in the Madera lobby is ready to collect baby clothing, diapers, baby wash, powder, pacifiers, etc. Some donations have already been received and a big “thank you” to those who have contributed so far.
An additional donation box is located at Kathi Krieg’s front door, 2680 E Sawyer Road. Please contact Kathi Krieg at 209-402-7606 with any questions.
Jaguar Lecture Wrap-Up
A big thank you to the 108 men and women who attended the lecture on Arizona Jaguars Monday evening. Your support added $290 to the 2019 TWOQC Scholarship fund.
Randy Serraglio from the Center for Biological Diversity gave an extremely informative talk about these magnificent animals and their future in Arizona. We look forward to inviting him back for more talks.
Until then, be sure to mark your calendars for the next instructive and fascinating lecture, “American Turquoise: Collecting with Confidence.” It will be Monday, March 12 at 7:00 p.m. in the Madera Ballroom. Additional details to follow.
On a Lighter Note…
Do you need a hostess gift for an upcoming party? Consider this: there are a few aprons left in red and green @$18, wine totes @ $4 or 3 for $10, and thermal totes @$7 or 3 for $20. Contact Peggy McGee at pjmcgee@cox.net to arrange for pick-up.
Volunteer Position Open
Still thinking of how to help TWOQC on a project? We need a Chairperson for the VA Clothing Drive held in the fall.
If you are interested in helping out, please contact Laura Colbert at 520-625-4033.
