JULY TWOQC MEETING
Mark your calendars for 6:30 p.m. on July 27. That’s the date and time of our next scheduled meeting. Judge Lisa Royal, Justice of the Peace for Green Valley since 2013, will share with us what goes on behind the scenes from a judge’s perspective. She will talk both from a personal and professional standpoint about what life is like on the bench. Door prizes will be given.
TOILETRIES FOR HOMELESS VETERANS
If you have any unopened travel sized toiletries that you will not be using, please consider donating them to the homeless veterans. Just bring them to the meeting on July 27 and leave them at the back of the ballroom. They would also appreciate sunscreen, razors, and Chapstick.
CALENDARS FOR HOSPITALIZED VETERANS
If you have received more 2016 calendars than you could possibly use, please don’t throw them in the trash. The hospitalized veterans at the Tucson VA Hospital really appreciate them. You may bring calendars, greeting cards and note pads to our July 27 meeting and I will get them to the VA.
COOKBOOKS
We will not be having a cookbook sales table prior to our meeting on July 27 but if you want to purchase a cookbook at that time—we are down to 24 now—please send me an email at pjmcgee@cox.net, and I will bring it to the meeting.
YARN
There is still some yarn left that is ideal for making hats, scarves, socks for the homeless veterans when we hold our clothing drive on October 31. It will be available in the back of the ballroom prior to our meeting on July 27. If you can’t make the meeting and would like to get some yarn to get started on knitting/crocheting projects, please contact me at pjmcgee@cox.net and I will gladly show you what I have.
COUPONS
Coupons for the National Guard should expire August 12 or later. Coupons for the two overseas bases that the club supports should expire June 15 or later. We cannot accept any uncut coupons since we have no volunteers to clip them. We have posted new instructions for preparing the cut coupons for both the National Guard and for overseas: How to Prep Coupons. Peggy Richmond is taking care of the coupons for Unit 23 and Judy Poffenbarger for Unit 11. Please take any coupons for overseas to Peggy Richmond at 2731 E. Elba Ct. by July 29 so she can get them in the mail by the end of the month. Remember, coupons going overseas need to be sorted by food and non-food and then clipped by denomination. If you can count and tabulate the coupons, Peggy would really appreciate that too. You may also bring clipped and sorted coupons to the meeting on Monday and I will get them to the right ladies.
