Veteran’s Day
Thanks to all who joined us at the Green Valley Cemetery on Veteran’s Day to pay tribute to our Veterans. The ceremony was very moving and so special to the Veterans in attendance. Martha McSally addressed the crowd, there was a posting of the colors, wreath laying ceremony, and patriotic music by the Bavarian Brass Band. «Veteran’s Day Event Photos»
November TWOQC Program
Ballet Continental provided TWOQC with a real treat during Monday’s program. Twenty four dancers performed excerpts from the Nutcracker. Not only were the dancers talented, the costumes were both beautiful and fun. As an extra treat, Darby Downs performed the Prayer from Coppelia, Ballet Continental’s most recent show. «November program photos»

Photo Book
More headshots were taken at the November program and have been uploaded. The next opportunity to get your photo included in the TWOQC photo book will be the December holiday luncheon. Come photo-ready and your headshot will be added to the member photo book of paid members for 2017. Many thanks to Julie Ratley for stepping in to help with photo coverage in our club photographer’s absence at the November program. 2017 Membership Renewals
2017 Applications for new members and renewals for current members will be available at the December luncheon or you may go directly to the website to complete the «application». You may bring your renewal to the holiday luncheon, mail to Patti Giannasi at 1232 N. Rams Head Rd. or place in The Women of Quail Creek box at Patti’s front door. «map»
The Perfect Wrap
Fill the Sleigh at the December 12 Luncheon
Bring a gift bag to the December luncheon and fill the sleigh with items to be delivered to female youth that are on their own this holiday season. Cards with a name and age are available if you do not have one. Some suggested gifts might be a $20 Walmart card, lap size blanket, backpack, school supplies, toiletries or other types of gift cards. Please let us know if you would like to leave a gift bag but won’t be able to attend the luncheon. For questions please contact «Yoto@womenqc.com».

The nominating committee for the TWOQC 2017 board has been appointed and consists of the following members: Suzan Bryceland · Rena Craine · Bonnie Hyra · Dian Simmons. The nominations are now closed. Elections will be held at the December luncheon where we will vote on the following Slate of Officers for 2017 for these open positions:

Donations for Veterans
Both wall and pocket calendars as well as greeting/note cards and Christmas wrapping paper are needed for the hospitalized veterans. Those being hospitalized long-term and those living in the nursing home facility really appreciate getting them. Please bring them to the luncheon on December 12 and any unopened travel-sized toiletries for the homeless veterans. Look for the table in the back of the ballroom.
Coupons
Coupons for the National Guard should expire December 12 or later, and those for overseas should expire October 1 or later. Coupons may be left on one of the tables in the back of the ballroom, or dropped off at Judy Poffenbarger’s at 2390 E. Bluejay Bluff Lane (map) or Peggy Richmond’s at 2731 E. Veterans Appreciation Week
A HUGE thanks to all of you and our partners and friends at The Sahuarita Educational Enrichment Foundation! Our Veteran’s Appreciation Week fundraisers, the Gatekeepers concert and the Power Pack Attack basketball challenge, made possible two wonderful scholarships. These will be awarded to two women graduating from Sahuarita School District, one from Sahuarita High and one from Walden Grove. Our goal is to help them jumpstart their careers.
The Scholarship Committee wishes to extend “cheers” to those who purchased tickets to the concert and basketball game, to those who donated money, and to members and spouses who helped coordinate the events. This was a JOB WELL DONE! «Concert & Basketball Challenge Photos»
