Toot Toot, everyone! Have you heard about âTootsâ? Itâs about sharing good news, giving high fives, thumbs up, patting each other on the back for our successes and hard work. During Board meetings we share toots and invite you to visit the âToot-Tootâ section of the website. It is located in the sidebar at the bottom. Look for the little engine.
Hereâs a big TOOT for you. Thank you for making TWOQC a significant force in our community and a stellar organization for 15-years. It simply could not be done without caring, hardworking and amazing women⌠Toot, Toot!
If you missed the special email announcement with important information for purchasing a ticket, CLICK HERE. Weâll be at the Madera Clubhouse @ 6:00 p.m. TONIGHT and on Monday, March 11, so come on by and get your ticket!
Be prepared to walk down memory lane… the good ole’ tunes we enjoyed for many years will play in the casino atmosphere background at the Anniversary Party on March 18th.
In this FMM, a sampling of the tunes you’ll hear are below. By simply clicking on a song, the music will begin. This same list may be found in the sidebar of the website (near the top). We will leave the music in the sidebar through the 18th. Look for the Music Player, select a song, turn up the volume and enjoy!
We are bringing back the ever-popular Photo Booth where our club photographer, Eileen Sykora, will capture memorable shots of members and guests. Be sure to visit the Photo Booth as you enjoy every aspect of this very special celebration event.
Klatches with the President
On March 1st a group of long-time members gathered at my home for casual conversation about the early days of TWOQC. The stories were wonderful. Fun tidbits were shared, like the first member luncheon which was held in half of the Silver Room. Contrast that to the recent Fashion Show extravaganza! We heard about programs that flopped (Magician) and some that were too hilarious to mention. The ladies talked about fun field trips, particularly visiting the zoo.
The next get together is planned for Thursday, March 21st at 10:00 a.m. It would be great fun for me to visit with you over coffee and goodies at my home. If you have been a member for longer than 7 years and can join me, please let me know (520) 625-4476.
TWOQC MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: Julie Woodard
For Julie the question, âWhere are you from?â does not have a simple answer. She was born in Wisconsin, but raised in New Hampshire. She spent twenty-six years in the Chicago area and then relocated to the Texas Gulf Coast. Julie had a thirty-three year career with a Fortune 50 company. The last fifteen years were spent in Environmental Regulatory Management.
Julie and John, her husband of thirty-four years, have two sons; one who lives in Utah and one in Illinois. Both are Eagle Scouts. Since retiring at the end of 2013, Julie and John have enjoyed traveling. They have been to all fifty states and several international destinations. They are avid baseball fans, pursuing their bucket list item to see a game at all of the thirty Major League Ballparks. They have only five more to go. They also enjoy riding their Harley’s; everything from an afternoon jaunt to a two-week trek on their three-wheeler. PHOTO: JULIE & JOHN
Julie moved to Quail Creek in 2015. When she isnât traveling, Julie enjoys all that Quail Creek has to offer. She works out daily at the Anza Athletic Club, enjoys hiking with the Desert Trekkers and is an active member of The Women of Quail Creek Scholarship Committee. Julie is inspired by all of the amazing, strong and beautiful women that comprise TWOQC and by the positive impact the group has on our community.
Julie claims she is truly living the dream!
The Youth On Their Own headquarters in Tucson is in need of items to boost their rapidly diminishing supplies of non-perishable food items and general hygiene products.
All donations should be dropped off at Sue Ann Obremski’s home (531 N. Keyes Road) and placed in the gray container outside the front door. Thank you for your help.
