Accomplishing Goals Despite a Pandemic
As referenced in today’s video, we have been working on revisions of the Bylaws of TWOQC. New Bylaws were adapted and approved on July 28, 2020. The revisions will allow us to continue to conduct business during the pandemic. Our nominating committee will be announced in September via email and their call for nominations and slate of officers will also be released via email. Most important, our election of candidates for the 2021 Executive Board will be held electronically in December.
Another change resulting from the new Bylaws is the change of titles and clarification of roles of some members of the Executive Board. Positions once referred to as Chair or Vice President are now referred to as Directors, becoming Director of Publicity, Director of Membership and Director of Programs. It’s a subtle but important change. To review the newly adopted Bylaws, click or tap here.
Scholarships
Thank you, Suzan
In 2017 Suzan Bryceland took the reins of the Scholarship Committee as Chair from Pat Neel. Suzan led the committee to new heights and organized a formidable force that champions education for women young and old. A job truly well done!
Jean Hewitt, a long-time member of the committee has now assumed the role of Chair. We wish Jean well in her new role and welcome her to the Leadership Team of TWOQC. The future of scholarship support within TWOQC is bright under Jean’s watch.
Merry Christmas in August

Connecting With Our Community
HOMELESS AND HOSPITALIZED VETERANS
The only thing the VA is accepting for hospitalized veterans currently is puzzle books. But please continue to save calendars for when appointments at the VA get back to normal again.
Homeless veterans continue to need unopened toiletries and unopened packages of napkins, paper plates, plastic utensils, and snack items. Please make sure toiletries have not expired.
WOMEN WARRIORS
Women Warriors, a 501(c)3 in Tucson that supports homeless female veterans, appreciates all the summer clothing members have donated. They are particularly in need of shoes, purses, belts, and accessories at this time. They will start to accept fall clothing towards the end of August.
Please take any donations for both groups to Peggy McGee’s house, 1908 E Longspur Place on August 13. She will take them to the VA the 14th.
150+ #PIMALOVE NOTES DELIVERED
Our cards are bringing strength, hope, and great happiness to residents of long-term care facilities in Green Valley under lock down. This project will continue until lock down is lifted, so please keep them coming, they make a huge difference. You can save postage by delivering your card to Pat Neel’s house, 2306 E. Spurwind Ln.
