∴ DEBI’S PRESIDENTS MESSAGE ∴

As most of you already know, GroupWorks, the App that TWOQC uses to communicate with its members, schedule small and large group events, and reserve spots for those events is ending. So, how does one find another source that would meet our unique needs? I have to say, it’s a journey. You explore, ask questions, work with others, ponder, explore some more and then cross your fingers that something will appear.

I was listening to a podcast the other day where famous author Anne Lamott was interviewed. She suggested that when you are attempting something new, it’s rather like traveling by car at night with your headlights on. You know where you want to be at the end of your journey, but you can only see as far as the headlights will allow. And yet, you can make the whole journey that way. Bit by bit. Curve by curve. And so, it goes with our search for an App to replace GroupWorks. We will find our way, but we can only go each day as far as our headlights allow.

Just as headlights illuminate a path, I have had the privilege of working with two members who have illuminated our path on this journey. Marianne Cobarrubias, TWOQC webmaster, social media and GroupWorks administrator, and Janet Shropshire, Director of Membership have been right by my side as we navigate our next steps. We communicate daily as we investigate, contemplate and deliberate, and I thank them from the bottom of my heart for their tireless efforts. What an awesome team! Our next step is now underway. We are involving your Executive Board and other TWOQC Project Coordinators and support team members, to our ‘path illuminators’ crew. Wish us luck as we progress on this journey.

And just as TWOQC takes our journey little by little with the help of members, may you recognize and thank those who are your ‘path illuminators’. I wish you success, happiness, and comfort as you journey through these summer months.

Get your raffle tickets before they sell out!

The Community Outreach Committee is selling Jim Click raffle tickets to support Courtney’s Courage, a 501(c)(3) organization providing assistance to families with children suffering from all types of cancer, and funds for research into children’s cancer. Currently, ten children in the Green Valley/Sahuarita area are supported by the organization. 

To purchase tickets, contact Peggy at (520) 207-6188 or positivelypeggygv@gmail.com: $25 each or 5 for $100, cash or check. All money stays with TWOQC. Drawing will be on December 12. Prizes include a 2024 Jeep Wrangler, 2 round-trip 1st class tickets to anywhere commercial airlines fly or $5,000 (cash).  [Raffle Details]

The Programs Committee is working hard to provide a variety of fun events to keep members busy and having the opportunity to meet & make new friends. Contact Dee, Programs Director,  (mrsdeejc@gmail.com) with your suggestions of new event ideas!

With the changes of the GroupWorks platform no longer being available, we will communicate to our members through other means until we have a firm replacement for GW. As we slide into summer having had our Summer Solstice Luncheon yesterday (19th), things are often a bit quieter, but still active, on the TWOQC front. Members will receive detailed information about scheduled events several weeks out via email. Watch for an email next week with more information.
