∴ DEBI’S PRESIDENTS MESSAGE ∴
There’s an old song by the Beatles that says, “I’ll get by with a little help from my friends”. Just think about the power in those ten words. In fact, I have been the grateful recipient of that ‘little help’ over the past few weeks.
Both my husband and I have had a few health scares a couple of weeks apart. And with that little help, I got by. I had a sweet family a few doors down who stood next to me as the ambulance drove away and offered kind words and reassurance. A dear friend dropped what she was doing and didn’t hesitate to drive me to the hospital. I had a wonderful neighbor who, every few days, brought over delectable corn bread, homemade sourdough loaves, heart-warming soups, and the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever eaten. Caring friends kept close tabs on me and sent messages of love and strength through phone calls, texts and personal visits. Over and over, I was reminded of the amazing community of compassionate, altruistic, and tenderhearted individuals that surround me. And, I thank each of you and am grateful for your support.
So, as I think about support, do you know who we support as an organization?
- We support our members. If our members are aware of a member who is experiencing a hardship, contact our Secretary, Joan Brown, and she will send a card of encouragement.
- Our members support the organization. In the near future, we will have elections for new Board members. If our members are interested or if members know of a TWOQC member who might be that person who can support TWOQC by running for office, contact me.
- TWOQC supports young women with the awarding of scholarships and specific local charities.
Please consider how you can support our wonderful TWOQC. I think the Beatles were right. We’ll “get by with a little help from our friends”. And it may be the only way that we will get by.

TWOQC President-Elect as Acting President
The Community Outreach Committee would like to thank those living in the Quail Creek community and outside our area for your generous gift card donations to support Courtney’s Courage. We have collected 70 cards totaling $1,190. We can only imagine the happy faces when Mom or Dad stop into Dairy Queen and surprise their child (and accompanying sibling) coming home from a cancer treatment to ice cream. Your gift cards included restaurants, grocery stores, shopping (Target), gas and movie theatres. Thank you for your support!
