- Debi’s Presidents Message: TWOQC Board of Directors Election

- Community Outreach: Your Generosity is Appreciated
- Scholarship: Hoedown a Huge Success – Gratitude to All
- Member Section: Member Programs in GroupSpot – Annual Holiday Luncheon in December
∴ DEBI’S PRESIDENTS MESSAGE ∴
November is a month known for so many things. I’ve thought of seven special days in our eleventh month. Here’s the challenge: Don’t peek and write down as many as you can.
Here are the seven ‘holidays’ I know of: All Saints Day, Sadie Hawkins Day, End of Daylight Savings time, Election Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, and that ever popular Black Friday. And if you are a member of TWOQC, you might have remembered that there is an eighth important day, or should I say two-week period. November is the month that TWOQC members vote for their Board of Directors. Yes, another election. This year, the following Board positions will be voted upon.
- President Elect: The President Elect has a one-year term and then transitions to the TWOQC Presidency at the end of that year. We can think of this position as a President with training wheels.
- Treasurer: This is a two-year term and with our ever-expanding membership, local charity outreach and scholarship awards, the position of treasurer is a critical one.
- Director of Membership: Do you remember when you joined TWOQC? This position not only manages our membership rolls but also helps acclimate our new members to all of the wonders of TWOQC. This is also a two-year term.
- Director of Scholarship: What more can I say. If you just went to the Javelina Hoedown or perhaps donated money to the Scholarship fund, then you know what this Director would oversee. Once again, this is a two-year term.
- Director of Community Outreach: This position rounds out our three-fold mission by overseeing the charitable giving that we provide to local foundations. She will serve a two-year term.
Members ::: To vote, look for your ballot and a short bio of each candidate in an email from me. Members may even want to check your spam folder, if needed. Voting is open from November 18 through December 1. We have an amazing group of women who want to serve our organization. Please take a few moments to show your support by voting.

TWOQC President-Elect as Acting President
TWOQC Community Outreach Committee would like to thank everyone in the Quail Creek
community and those who live elsewhere who contributed to our Genesis House Shelter Collection of household items, personal items, food, sheets and clothing. The collection bins were overflowing each day with much needed supplies. In addition, we received checks totaling $260 which gives us the opportunity to purchase items we didn’t receive or items Genesis House needs more of. We appreciate your generosity.
∴ SCHOLARSHIP ∴
♥ THANK YOU, everyone who attended this year’s Javelina Hoedown! Once again, the Madera
Clubhouse was rockin’ for the annual TWOQC Javelina Hoedown to Benefit Scholarships. Hard Scrabble Road was the live band this year and they wowed the crowd with their music!
♥ TWOQC Decorating Committee headed by Sandi Beecher did an outstanding job decorating the clubhouse and the ballroom with western motif which set the stage for a fun evening.
♥ The Silent Auction this year was bigger and better than ever featuring 114 items! Hats off to Linda Hauschild and Joy Richardson and their team of volunteers who worked tirelessly to make the silent auction a huge success! Thanks to all who donated items or dinners or other experiences to the Silent Auction along with all those who scoured businesses in the area and collected donations. And, let’s not forget those who bid generously which helped to raise about $15,500 for scholarships.
♥ This year’s 50/50 Raffle was the largest jackpot ever at $1750! Robin Yonis was the big winner and generously donated back $750 allowing TWOQC Scholarships to raise $2500 from the 50/50 Raffle. Thank you, Robin!
♥ We couldn’t do it without the help of so many volunteers who worked the night of the Hoedown selling raffle tickets, directing party-goers, and serving as Silent Auction monitors and cashiers. Thank You!!
♥ All-in-all everyone in attendance had a wonderful time and many came home with some amazing items. After expenses the 2024 Javelina Hoedown cleared just over $19,000. That will fund 5.5 scholarships. Thank you to everyone who attended, contributed items, and worked to make this event a huge success.
While the Javelina Hoedown is the only fundraising event that benefits TWOQC scholarships, we are once again fortunate to have a group of dedicated donors who have contributed $40,000 for a 2-to-1 Matching Fund Campaign. The Campaign was kicked off in September and donations have been coming in. Many people are using part of their Required Minimum Distribution funds to donate to the Matching Campaign. Simply decide the amount you would like to contribute, contact your financial advisor and have them send the funds to TWOQC Scholarship Matching Fund. Contact Deb Melton, Director of Scholarships for more details. If you have already sent a contribution, we Thank You!
If you were not at this year’s Javelina Hoedown, you will want to plan on attending next year. The date is already set for Thursday, Oct 23, 2025. Mark your calendar now so that you don’t miss out on the fun!
