∴ DEBI’S PRESIDENTS MESSAGE ∴

Time is flying by. Our year-end holiday celebrations have come and gone, New Year’s resolutions have been considered and are most likely out of the forefront of our minds, and we just celebrated love and kindness on February 14. So now what?
With The Women of Quail Creek, it is that time of the year that we get busy. All of our Board of Directors are very active devising new plans and ideas. In fact, I am very impressed with the creations and achievements that our nine Board members have been accomplishing. Their ideas are fresh and exciting and, perhaps, they are feeling a little scared to try something new. And yet, they are moving forward and growing their prospective area of the organization. I recently heard a quote that went like this: “It is good to be scared, but make sure it is the good kind of scared…..the kind that you grow from”. Isn’t that fascinating to think about … having the good kind of scariness in your life that promotes growth. I believe that our Board of Directors is following this kind of thinking, and I applaud their gracious efforts.
As you move forward with your life, may you have the good fortune to experience that good kind of scare in your life, the kind that helps you grow and become the individual that you are meant to be.
Warmly,
Debi Gutknecht
TWOQC President

The Community Outreach Committee’s first in-kind fundraising initiative kicks off March 3 in support of Green Valley Food Bank. In December, the Food Bank served 2,400 individual people. Their needs do not diminish in the winter, but donations often do. We will be collecting non-perishable food items along with often overlooked items that include hygiene products, especially feminine hygiene products and adult and baby diapers and wipes.
Quail Creek residents can drop their items off at the Madera Clubhouse donation bins between March 3 – 11. On March 14, the Food Bank will have a collection van in front of the Clubhouse from 10 AM – 1 PM. There will be committee volunteers on hand to unload your items.
If you live outside the Quail Creek community and would like to donate, you can send a check to TWOQC with a note “GV Food Bank” and send to TWOQC Community Outreach, PO Box 395, Green Valley, AZ 85614. Committee members will be able to shop for the most needed items.

Kindness was the theme for TWOQC in February. A presentation by Ben’s Bells encouraged women to spread kindness. Newer members experienced kindness through the offering of In My Kitchen events that focused on them. New members experienced kindness and welcoming through the New Member Socials.
The program committee continues to inspire us with their activities planned for the year. Community Outreach is planning to spread kindness through support of the local food bank (an event that includes our entire community).
♥ MEMBERS: There are so many ways for you to participate in the coming weeks. Be sure to check GroupSpot to get them marked on your calendar. And remember to practice kindness as you do. [Past Events]
