∴ DEBI’S PRESIDENTS MESSAGE ∴

Dear Friends,

Have you ever been so busy that when it comes time to communicate with others, you are simply out of words? This has been the way of my life over the past several weeks. I simply am out of words to make a coherent message for all of you. So, in lieu of an articulate correspondence, I thought I would give you some words of wisdom that have been shared with me over the years. Some will make you scratch your head; others will remind you of the saying on your favorite coffee cup; and some will simply elicit a smile. Enjoy.

  • It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see. (Henry David Thoreau)
  • What you tell yourself everyday will either lift you up or tear you down.
  • I love places that make you realize how tiny you and your problems are.
  • Stop making drama….you are not Shakespeare. (my favorite coffee cup)
  • Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the number of moments that take your breath away. (Maya Angelou)
  • Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all. (Helen Keller)
  • When life gets tough, hang out with your dog. (I am sure that my dog, Stanley Walter, has said this in his own way.)
  • There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle. (Albert Einstein)
  • All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt. (Charles M. Schulz)
  • I walk around like everything’s fine, but deep down, inside my shoe, my sock is sliding off.

I wish you a happy March, a joyful life journey, and an adventurous time finding your favorite quote.

Warmly,
Debi Gutknecht
TWOQC President

∴ SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS NIGHT ∴

We are excited to announce that the ”2025 Women of Quail Creek Scholarship Awards Night” will take place on May 14th at 6:30pm in the Madera Clubhouse Ballroom. This event is free and open to the public and we hope you will attend.

Scholarship Committee members are busy much of March and April evaluating scholarship applications, interviewing candidates, and making the final selections of who will be this year’s scholarship recipients. If you attended the Javelina Hoedown or contributed to the Scholarship Matching Fund, then you won’t want to miss the awards night. This is your opportunity to meet the winners, hear their inspiring stories, and celebrate with them. Hope to see you there! Scholarship Awards Ceremony | May 2024 [Photos]

∴ COMMUNITY OUTREACH ∴

The Community Outreach Committee held an in-kind fundraising drive for the Green Valley Food Bank that has exceeded all expectations. Twelve days of collections netted approximately 1,500 pounds of food and hygiene products. In addition, the Committee received very generous donations of $1,550 for the Food Bank. One committee member, with the help of her husband and a neighbor retrieved almost 300 pounds of items on the first day of collections. We are grateful to all our donors.

The Committee continues to receive generous donations of Gift Cards to benefit Courtney’s Courage from individuals living outside the Quail Creek Community which is especially appreciated by the children and their families. Thank you!
