∴ PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE from JANET ∴
Excitement is building across TWOQC as the year gets underway. There’s a renewed energy in the air, and it’s contagious. Members are stepping forward, sharing ideas and embracing opportunities to connect, contribute and grow together. Connections are beginning to form.
In TWOQC, the Membership Committee plays a vital role, reaching out to new members and welcoming them through Meet & Greets that showcase the opportunities we have to offer. The Programs Committee is hard at work designing activities that create spaces where members can engage, learn and enjoy one another. These activities aren’t just events on a calendar; they are opportunities to build relationships and strengthen the bonds that make our organization special. (If you are a member and not connected through our GroupSpot site, please join so you can sign up for events.)
Our Community Outreach committee continues to excel by uniting our members with the broader community to make a real difference. Through our support, we extend our reach beyond ourselves and help others in ways that matter. At the same time, the Scholarship Committee is beginning the important work of identifying recipients for our scholarship program, laying the groundwork to support and uplift those who will benefit from these education opportunities.
There truly is so much happening this year – but the best part is the friendships. Seeing members participate, find their place, make friends and feel at home in the organization reminds us why we do what we do. I encourage members to get involved and find that special place that feels like home.

∴ COMMUNITY OUTREACH ∴

The Community Outreach Committee collected almost 900 items and $1,130 in gift cards to support HOPE RISING Arizona (HRA). In addition, we also received another $1,000 donation. The Committee wants to convey our sincerest thanks for the generous gifts. The HRA Executive Director sends his thanks as well:
“The supplies and gift cards your community donated are invaluable to our survivor residents. The personal self-care items and toiletries allow our residents to not have to spend what little money they have on simple every day care items. They can manage their budgets to purchase items that aren’t just needs but items they desire and that help restore their dignity…”
We are currently collecting shoes with the proceeds from the donations going to United Community Health Center’s (UCHC) Pediatric Dental and Behavioral Health Programs.
