∴ PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE for Members from JANET ∴
What is TWOQC? What began over twenty years ago as a social group for the women living in Quail Creek has blossomed into a vibrant 501(c)(3)organization. Today, TWOQC makes meaningful charitable contributions throughout our community and provides tuition scholarships that help young women pursue brighter futures. And through it all, we’ve never lost sight of the friendships and connections that started it all.
During COVID, our organization adapted in ways that made us even stronger. Small groups were formed and have become a vital part of who we are today. Members eagerly sign up for In My Kitchen and On-The-Go activities, while others enjoy our two book clubs or explore their creativity through arts and crafts. Our new Girls Day Out gatherings offer a chance to experience area restaurants and simply have fun together. In addition, we continue to offer engaging mid-size programs, like our birding presentation, earlier this month. (Past Events)
We also remain committed to bringing everyone together through our Spring and Holiday luncheons, as well as our yearly Open House. We hold meetings for all members and the community such as our Honor Flight Presentation and the Scholarship Awards Ceremony. And, of course, one of our most anticipated traditions – the Javelina Hoedown – allows us to celebrate while raising vital funds for scholarships.
TWOQC is truly unique. Few organizations balance community service, personal enrichment, and genuine connection the way we do. I hope our members feel proud to be a member and I encourage each one to reach out to other women in our community. After all, if Deborah hadn’t reached out to me, I might have missed the life-changing experience and close friendships that The Women of Quail Creek have brought me.

∴ COMMUNITY OUTREACH ∴
The Community Outreach Committee has exceeded its goal of collecting 100 bags of shoes totaling 2,500 pairs of shoes. Closets have definitely been cleaned out so this project was a win for everyone. Once the shoes have been picked up, delivered and weighed by funds2orgs, a check will be sent to United Community Health Services to benefit their Pediatric Dental and Behavioral Health Programs.
TWOQC’s committee has agreed to support HOPE RISING Arizona as sex-trafficked women transition from their long-term care shelter to a home in Tucson where they can live and work for up to two years. They are asking previous donors to “Adopt A Room” and we will be purchasing items for their dining room. We will also be able to set up and decorate this space. Stay tuned to our Monthly Messages and the Community Outreach site page as information, when available, will also be posted.
Thank you for your support from TWOQC’s Community Outreach Committee.
∴ SCHOLARSHIPS ∴
Scholarship Awards Celebration!
Plan to Attend Scholarship Awards Celebration on May 13, 6:30, in the Quail Creek Madera Clubhouse Ballroom.
TWOQC Scholarship Awards Celebration is the culmination of a year-long effort to help young women further their education by granting scholarships. This year we are pleased to be able to award more than 20 scholarships to deserving young women in our community. They will be studying a wide range of careers from dental hygiene and nursing to aircraft maintenance and occupational therapy.
You contributed to this effort if you attended the Javelina Hoedown or donated to the Scholarship Matching Fund or contributed to one of the Named Scholarships. Thank you for your contributions.
Please plan to attend and meet the winners, hear their inspiring stories and help us celebrate their achievements. We will be awarding each of them a scholarship of up to $3500, which will be paid directly to their school for tuition and fees.
Awards Night is held at the Madera Clubhouse but it is open to the public so bring a friend. Look forward to seeing you there!
