∴ PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE ∴
A special message to TWOQC members, and anyone who reads our monthly blog messages:
Life has a way of handing us the unexpected. As a friend of mine often says, “We plan, God laughs.” That has certainly been true for my family this past month.
We thought our plan was simple. As many friends and neighbors have done, we planned to move closer to our grown children at the end of the year. We have everything lined up and construction on our new home in Texas has begun. Following our realtor’s advice, we listed our home praying it would sell by the end of the year.
Then the unexpected happened.
Our house sold almost immediately. At the same time, my husband suffered a fall and broke his ankle requiring surgery. Fortunately, our children have all rallied around us finding us a place to live and helping us pack.
The good news is that the leadership of TWOQC is strong. We have a highly capable President-Elect and an exceptional board who will guide the organization through the remainder of 2026 with strength and vision.
This organization has truly been a lifeline for me. I leave with deep gratitude and so many friendships I will treasure. I am excited and optimistic about all that lies ahead for TWOQC – the plans for connection, fun and growth are inspiring and I will be cheering you on every step of the way. I hope you will find that connection that helps you grow through serving on one of our wonderful committees.
While I will miss being an active part of this incredible community of women, I carry with me the joy, support and memories we’ve shared.

∴ COMMUNITY OUTREACH ∴
Our in-kind collection for Valley Assistance Services (VAS) was very successful with over 650 items being collected with an estimated value of $1,200. The items included: food, paper goods, socks and feminine hygiene products to be distributed from their Essential Pantry. In addition, we received $300 in checks and purchased Walmart gift cards so their staff could fill in much needed items. We are grateful to all our donors.
Our next collection will be for The Salvation Army “Love Beyond Crayons” that provides backpacks filled with all the items children need when they go back to school. Many of our lower income families simply can’t afford these items. If you are unable to shop but want to support this effort, you can send your check and our members will purchase the items for you. Checks can be sent to: Community Outreach Committee, PO Box 395, Green Valley, AZ 85614. Please note in the memo line: Salvation Army. If you live in Quail Creek, you can also drop your check off at 549 N Eagle Rock Dr. and place in TWOQC box.
