Spreading Holiday Cheer for YOTO
Just a few days left to complete your YOTO (Youth On Their Own) Holiday Gift Bag. Completed bags can be brought to Diane Quinn’s house at 2276 E Skywalker Way by December 10th or bring them to the luncheon on December 11th.
Did you pick up a card that you can’t fulfill? Things come up so if this has happened to you call Diane at 591-7935, no questions asked, or put the card in the TWOQC box at her home. We would like to help all 250 students have a good holiday.
Learn more about Youth On Their Own. This video, Sabrina’s story, reminds us all why we affectionately support YOTO.

2018 Fashion Show – February 7
Thank you all who donated to the November 11th cancer benefit garage sale. You helped raise over $4,000 for the American Cancer Society.
Now it is time to think about making up a raffle basket for the February 7th cancer benefit luncheon and style show to help the Quail Creek Fights Back Relay For Life team raise dollars for cancer.
While shopping, please pick up a thing or two to add to raffle baskets or shop for your own basket to put together. Suggestions might include: coffee/tea · pasta & wine · pet food & toys · garden & plant · purse & scarf · sports/exercise
Please ask the spa, dentist, dermatologist, restaurant and other businesses that you are visiting if they would be willing to donate a gift certificate for their services. This is a great way for a business to advertise and reach 300 households plus a way for TWOQC to help fund cancer research. Basket items and gift certificates can be delivered to Ginny Hutcheson at 2494 E Bluejay Bluff Lane or vhutcheson@msn.com for pick-up of items.
The fashion show luncheon committee is also seeking volunteers who would be willing to sell 50/50 tickets around Quail Creek and the community plus handle the 50/50 ticket sales on February 7th. Contact Ginny for more information.
2018 Military Baby Shower Meeting – December 6
Remember the next Baby Shower meeting is on Wednesday, December 6th from 10:00 to 11:30 at the Kino Conference Room.
We currently have seven moms signed up. We are excited to get started so bring your ideas with you!!! If you have questions, please contact Kathi Krieg at babyshower@womenqc.com.
Volunteer Opportunity – 2018 Clothing Drive
An opportunity is available to lead the current committee for the 9th annual Homeless Veterans Clothing Drive that will be held on October 20, 2018. The committee has worked on previous years’ events in an organizational capacity and is structured to offer complete support to the incoming Chair.
The vision of the committee is to give the area homeless veterans hope, dignity and honor by providing them with quality clothing and household items donated by the residents of Quail Creek. We endeavor to demonstrate our gratitude as we serve those who have served us so courageously.
Please consider sharing your “Gift of Hope” as you Chair this event that makes such a difference. For further information or to volunteer, please contact president@womenqc.com.
Holiday Website Theme – “Let it Snow”
Gearing up for the holidays, the website theme has changed (for December only).
“Silently, like thoughts that come and go, the snowflakes fall, each one a gem.” -William Hamilton Gibson
Homeless Veteran Received Much Needed Help
Thanks to all who responded to the call to help the veteran who became homeless when a fire destroyed their home. They received so many of the items on their list of things they needed, plus some items not on their list. One thing that the man still needs because the shoes we gave him didn’t fit is size 10 ½ shoes or work boots. Contact Peggy McGee at pastpresident@womenqc.com if you can help with the shoes.
