∴ DIANE’S PRESIDENTS MESSAGE ∴

The Women of Quail Creek’s Executive Board along with input from the Funding and Giving Committee and the Scholarship Committee reevaluated how to best serve our charitable purpose. The result of that evaluation were some changes to TWOQC’s structure.
Beginning in 2024 the position of Director of Charitable Fundraising is eliminated, the position of Director of Scholarships is created, and the local Green Valley, Sahuarita, and Santa Cruz charities are under the Director of Community Outreach.
Our Scholarship program has grown substantially since it’s inception in 2016. It is an integral part of our charitable purpose. It’s important that there is a seat on the Executive Board for Scholarships.
Also, we are very committed to our local charities. The Community Outreach committee had organized many in-kind projects benefitting Green Valley, Sahuarita, and Santa Cruz County. The Board believed that tying both in-kind and monetary support for the local charities was better served being under one Director.
TWOQC has many women who work diligently for the organization. I want to thank all the women who gave us input for these changes.
On a lighter note, the Javelina Hoedown benefitting Scholarships was a wonderful success. See below. Our Open House on November 13th was also well attended with many new members joining our organization. The Holiday Luncheon is December 11th, and the Holiday project supports the Salvation Army’s Giving Tree to include older teens. That information is below also.
Thanksgiving is Thursday. I hope that you take time to consider what you are thankful for. I’m thankful for this wonderful organization.
∴ FUNDING & GIVING ∴

A big thank you to everyone who attended this year’s Javelina Hoedown! Once again, the Madera Clubhouse was rockin’ for the annual TWOQC Javelina Hoedown to Benefit Scholarships. Sandi B. and her decorating committee did an amazing job with decorations all over the clubhouse! Basket Raffle brought in $2,484 and 41 people won some lovely gift baskets! Thanks to all who purchased Basket Raffle Tickets and to those who collected donations and helped put together the baskets.
There were plenty of items and experiences to bid on in the Silent Auction. Hats off to Joy R. and her team who worked tirelessly to make the silent auction a big success! Thanks to all who donated to the Silent Auction and especially to those who bid generously to help raise about $12,000 for scholarships.
The Cash Raffle was split 50/25/25 with $835 retained for scholarships and the other half split between 2 winners! We were thrilled that one of the 25% winners was a Quail Creek employee working the event that night.
Thank you to the volunteers who worked the night of the Hoedown selling raffle tickets, directing party-goers, and serving as cashiers. We cannot put on an event like this without you.
All-in-all, everyone in attendance had a wonderful time and many came home with some amazing items. Totals and expenses are still being calculated but it looks like the Hoedown made just over $18,000 this year. Thank you to everyone who attended, contributed items, and worked to make this event a huge success.
While the Javelina Hoedown is the only fundraising event that benefits TWOQC scholarships, this year we were approached by a group of donors who have put up just over $40,000 for a 2-to-1 Matching Fund Campaign. The Campaign was kicked off at the Hoedown and many attendees jumped on the opportunity to be some of the first to contribute. Thank you! QC Crossing | Nov 2023
If you were not at the Hoedown, you can read the article in the Quail Creek Crossing, or contact a Scholarship Committee member for more information.

∴ COMMUNITY OUTREACH ∴ GIVING TREE HOLIDAY PROJECT
TWOQC’s collection of gifts for 90 needy youth ages 11-17 will last until December 10. All residents with a Quail Creek GroupWorks account who wish to help can check out our virtual giving tree on GroupWorks. Unwrapped gifts may be taken to 1427 E Blue Granite Dr. or 720 N Alexis Loop.
Gifts may also be brought to TWOQC’s holiday luncheon on December 11 outside the Madera Clubhouse Ballroom. A Salvation Army rep will pick up donations after the luncheon. Checks should be made payable to TWOQC with Salvation Army on the memo line to enable us to purchase items for which no one signs up. Checks may also be made payable to the Salvation Army.
HONOR FLIGHT
On November 11-13, Honor Flight Southern Arizona (HFSAZ) successfully led their 33rd mission to Washington D.C. to tour the war memorials and national monuments.
The 69 veterans who participated in this tour very much appreciated the letters written to them by TWOQC members and others in the GV/Sahuarita community.
Go to the Honor Flight website at honorflightsaz.org and scroll down to the Facebook News & Events section, right side of the homepage, for their Facebook link with many photos. Stay informed! Visit the Honor Flight website or TWOQC’s Community Outreach page where updates will be posted as information becomes available.
