Posted on November 9, 2018 by The Women of Quail Creek

Nov. 9, 2018 — In this week’s Friday Morning Message: Ladies Night is Finally Here | Holiday Luncheon: “Lighting Up the Holidays” | Making Holidays Bright for YOTO | Veteran’s Day Commemoration | Member’s Corner: Dues Renewal Information, & More New Members | Scholarships Committee Gets Ready to Select Honoree Recipients | Baby Shower Committee Announces Fall Festival Success | Upcoming Events

SPECIAL “LADIES NIGHT” ANNOUNCEMENT!

Nov. 12, 2018 · 8:30 p.m. — Ladies Night Out was a HUGE success this evening. Watch for the online Feedback Form in this week’s Friday Morning Message. If you attended the event, please take a moment to fill out the form. Thank you.

Ladies Night is Finally Here

We are launching the holidays a little early but after Monday’s program we are sure you will be ready. Dress in holiday attire or dress casual, whatever makes you happy. But be ready for fun as we learn together how to entertain and enjoy what the fall and holidays can offer.

Have a scarf that you love but you struggle with how to wear it? Bring it along! Are you all thumbs when you wrap gifts or attempt to make bows? Prepare to be amazed and conquer your clumsiness.

Several lucky women will enjoy mini-facials, nail color changes, chair massages or other beauty treatments. Everyone will enjoy passed appetizers (in the first hour) and may purchase beer or wine ($5, cash only, NO Robson cards accepted).

Tickets may be sold out by the time you are reading this but check with Diane, programs@womenqc.com to see if there are any left.

Doors open at 6:00 pm. Get there by 6:30 to have a chance to enjoy everything.

Holiday Luncheon: “Lighting Up The Holidays”

Join us for the annual holiday extravaganza on Monday, December 10th. Seats for the TWOQC Holiday Luncheon are $20 for members and $25 for first-time guests. Come and enjoy a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings; mashed potatoes, dressing, salad, choice of dressing, green beans and a sprinkled cupcake for dessert.

Have your picture taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Purchase raffle tickets for a lovely centerpiece surprise, join in on holiday caroling, meet YOTO dignitaries. To purchase your luncheon reservation contact activities@womenqc.com.

Making Holidays Bright for YOTO

Youth On Their Own is experiencing an unprecedented increase in participants in their program for homeless youth. These young people are working hard to stay in school and to keep their lives together. If you didn’t get one of TWOQC’s holiday cards for YOTO you can still help.

Buy a warm blanket or fluffy throw and a $25 gift card. If you are attending the holiday luncheon on Dec 10, bring those items with you. Don’t wrap them; we’ll take care of that.

If you’re not planning to attend the luncheon, bring the blanket and card to Diane Quinn’s house, 2276 E Skywalker Way, before December 9 and the committee will make sure it makes it to YOTO.

Veteran’s Day Commemoration

“In valor there is hope.” Publius Cornelius Tacitus

It is with gratitude that we pay homage to all living and deceased Veterans each year in November. Many members of TWOQC and the Quail Creek Community are veterans and we thank them for their service.

You are invited to participate in the Veterans Day ceremony on Monday, November 12th at the Green Valley Mortuary & Cemetery, 18751 S La Canada Drive, starting at 9:30. TWOQC will be placing a wreath at the ceremony.

Member’s Corner

Thank you to all who have completed your TWOQC 2019 membership renewals. Monday’s program “Ladies Night Out” is a purely social event and renewals will not be taken that night.

To renew please MAIL your 2019 membership renewal check ($25, payable to: TWOQC) to Angie Werner, 1924 E Orinda Lane. ♦♦♦DO NOT DROP AT HER DOOR!♦♦♦ If your information has not changed, place a note on your check stating “no changes”.  If your information has changed, please fill out the membership form. Forms may be found online at womenqc.com/membership-form or at the Madera Clubhouse. We are grateful for YOU, our fantastic members!

Welcome to our newest members:  Diane Boisen, Pam Campbell, Lynda Eckebrecht, Billie Harsch, Sandi Hrovatin, Sandra MacGillivray, Janice Steinle, and Patty Zatkin.

The New Member Welcome Party hosted yesterday afternoon at the home of Angie Werner (2nd Vice President and Membership Chair) was a huge success. Key leadership members and committee chairs greeted 30+ of TWOQC’s newest members. Thank you to Eileen Sykora, club photographer, for covering the event. Scholarships

JUST IN FROM THE SCHOLARSHIPS COMMITTEE:

The merchandise stocks of cute TWOQC logo items, which support educational scholarship fund, are almost gone! The holidays are coming and there are only 2 aprons ($18 ea.) and some wine totes ($4 ea.) still available. Don’t be left without your gifts. Email Suzan Bryceland @ scholarships@womenqc.com.

The work, effort, and commitment by the Scholarship Committee to make Oktoberfest and the fundraising efforts such a success was celebrated at the Stables Restaurant in Tubac. It was a quick breather before getting down to the real work of deciding who will receive a scholarship. The Committee’s plans include one young lady from each of our local high schools, Sahuarita and Walden Grove, and four Woman-In-Transition. Stay tuned for more information.

We thank the membership of TWOQC and the Quail Creek community for their terrific support during the fundraising season. CHEERS!

Baby Shower: Fall Festival Success!

The Quail Creek Fall Festival was a huge success for the Baby Shower Committee. The raffle garnered an additional $600. Thank you to Sue Obremski and Jadine Hilt for making and filling the gorgeous baskets. Many thanks to the ladies who volunteered to work at the raffle table.

The Baby Shower Committee welcomes all interested TWOQC members. Please contact Kathi Krieg at babyshower@womenqc.com for more information.
