∴ DIANE’S PRESIDENTS MESSAGE ∴
Our warm monsoon summer months are here, and for members who are staying in Quail Creek during this time, we will continue to offer a few programs before ramping up the volume in the Fall. The May 22nd members-only program (Public Arts & Murals) and the June 12th members lunch were well attended. When provided, event photos can be found in the Photo Gallery. We are gearing up for the June 29th member program, Literature of the Holocaust. All Quail Creek residents (women only) are invited to join TWOQC prior to this program to have the opportunity to sign up to attend this presentation. [How to Join, or scroll to Members Section, below]
The Programs Committee has fun offerings for the summer, although the large member meetings will pause until September. You can enjoy some book discussions, play Mexican Train, have coffee and conversations, and even try your hand at Trivia. The events will be posted two weeks prior to their happening so we encourage our members to visit GroupWorks to sign up.
Have you taken a stroll through our website? While much of the members-only information is available through our GroupWorks account, there are still many features on our website for members and our general audience. Here’s a snapshot of what you will find on our site.
If you are searching for something and cannot find it, reach out to us from the site’s Contact Us page. We would love to hear from you!
The next Honor Flight from Tucson will be November 11-13. These trips to our Nation’s Capital are at no cost to the veterans. One of the highlights of the trip is Mail Call, when the veterans are given letters of appreciation written by friends, school children and the general public. There will be 79 veterans going on the November flight. This presents an opportunity for anyone interested in writing letters to show appreciation to these veterans for their service. Please consider getting a start on letters during the summer while it is too hot to be outside. Completed letters can be dropped off at 2719 E. Sawyer Road at any time.
∴ FUNDING & GIVING ∴
There’s still time to get your raffle tickets! TWOQC’s Funding and Giving Committee’s final sale of 50/25/25 raffle tickets will be on the 29th of June in the Madera Clubhouse lobby from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Tickets are $25 each.
The three great prizes this year are a new 2023 Ford Bronco Raptor, Two Round-Trip First-Class Airline Tickets to anywhere in the world, or $5,000 in cash. The drawing for the two winners will be on Friday, June 30th at 10:30 a.m. in the Madera Clubhouse Coffee Shop. Both winners will be notified and permission to publish their names will be requested before the winning names are published.
This drawing will end our charity fundraising for our local applicants. The sales of the Jim Click Raffle Tickets for our charity activities will however continue until December 2023.
It is not a requirement to be a TWOQC member to purchase these raffle tickets. Anyone is welcomed to purchase 50/25/25 and Jim Click raffle tickets. We appreciate your support of our charity fundraising efforts.
TWOQC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. EIN 87-3110178.
Your donation may be tax deductible.
