∴ DIANE’S PRESIDENTS MESSAGE ∴
It’s hard to believe that August is almost over. The Sahuarita Schools are already in session. The temperatures are moderating a bit and the monsoons are finally here. Fall will be here before we know it.
For The Women of Quail Creek, that means that things are starting to pick up. Before long, On-the-Go will be planning some adventures, many of the other small groups will get on the calendar, and our general members meetings will return in September.(see below). Many of our members who were gone for the summer will be starting their return trip to Quail Creek.
Still, we have been busy this summer. Although for circumstances beyond our control, the Spring Fashion Show did not happen, the Funding and Giving Committee was able to raise funds for some of our local charities. The committee recommended and the Executive Board approved $4,000 to be distributed to 3 charities (see below). I want to extend a large thank you to TWOQC members, Quail Creek residents, and the larger community for generously donating the funds for these charities.
In addition, the Community Outreach teacher’s shower collected enough supplies for 24 teachers (see below). Again, the generosity of our community is amazing.
Now the Javelina Hoedown fundraiser for our Scholarships is in the planning stages for the October event. Stay tuned!
The Community Outreach Committee extends a sincere thank you to all who donated so many items to the Teachers’ Supply Shower collection. Because of your generosity the Committee will be able to “shower” the 24 teachers at Sahuarita Elementary School with supplies they would otherwise have to purchase with their own funds.
Contact Community Outreach with your questions.
